Transit

Ample parking in the oversize driveway, plus abundant street parking on this corner lot. We are 1 block from Cody’s main street, so you can walk most everywhere that matters – including the Buffalo Bill Center of the West museum. Heading to the rodeo? You’ll need your car for that, or jump on the handy shuttle that picks up just a couple blocks from our place.

Neighbourhood

One block off Sheridan (Cody’s main/high street), you’ll be close to everything that matters during your stay. Shopping, restaurants, coffee shops and museums are all within easy walking distance. But you’ll never know you are in the heart of downtown when you relax in our secluded backyard surrounded by its ivy-covered fence. It’s the best of both worlds!

Space

3 houses on 1 lot in downtown Cody. The main house offers 3 bedrooms (1 King, 2 Twin XLs, 1 King) plus a sofa sleeper in the upstairs living room. Chef’s kitchen, large dining room plus breakfast bar offers sit-down eating for 12. Downstairs you will find a washer and dryer, plus another living room, dining area, and small kitchen. Each of the two guesthouses offer 1 queen plus convertible queen size sectional, full kitchen with breakfast bar (seats 4), laundry, and full bath. All units are air conditioned for your comfort.

Perfect for families, our location is just one block from Cody’s main/high street with its shops and restaurants. Walk out for breakfast or dinner, take in the Buffalo Bill Center of the West museum, or relax in City Park just minutes away on foot. After your day out-and-about, retreat to the main house’s ivy-enclosed private garden to unwind. And perhaps the best part? House Manual

Parking
Park in the driveway or use street parking on Rumsey or 14th. Please use caution backing out of the driveway and when entering Rumsey.

Television
All TVs are equipped with Roku streaming devices, giving you the option to connect to your favorite streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, etc.). You must log into streaming services using your own credentials (please be sure to log out when your time with us is over).
Basic Controls
To turn on the television in the living room, master bedroom, or kitchen, tap the power button on the Roku remote. Separate remotes are available for each TV in their respective areas.
To control the TV volume, use the volume controls on the right side of the Roku remote. The mute button is just below the volume controls on the remote.
If you like, you can also download the Roku app to control the device using your mobile phone. Just search for “Roku” in the Apple or Google app stores.
To turn off the TV, just tap the Power button on the Roku remote when the TV is on.

Heating/Cooling
To adjust the heat in the main house, use the thermostat in the hallway between the living room and the dining room. Note that this thermostat controls only HEATING. Two mini-splits located on the walls in the living room and bedroom provide cooling. You can control these units using the remotes available in the kitchen and bedroom. To adjust the temperature, point the remote at the unit and tap the power On button, and then tap the up or down arrows to set the desired temperature. You will hear two beeps from the unit if the adjustment was made successfully. If you do not hear two beeps, point the remote at the unit and repeat the temperature adjustment.
The units operate quietly – if the unit’s louvres are open it is working, and the ambient temperature in the room will adjust rapidly. Please do not power the units on during the winter.

In the guesthouses, two mini-splits located on the walls in the living room and bedroom provide heating and cooling. You can control these units using the remotes available in the kitchen and bedroom. To adjust the temperature, point the remote at the unit and tap the power On button, and then tap the up or down arrows to set the desired temperature. You will hear two beeps from the unit if the adjustment was made successfully. If you do not hear two beeps, point the remote at the unit and repeat the temperature adjustment.
The units operate quietly – if the unit’s louvres are open it is working, and the ambient temperature in the room will adjust rapidly. Please note that both units must be in the same mode to function properly; you cannot have Heat on in the living room and Cooling on in the bedroom at the same time.

Converting the Sectional to an Additional Bed in the Guesthouses
Each guesthouse living room sectional can be reconfigured as a queen-size bed. If you need a second bed, please let us know ahead of time so we can reconfigure the sectional for you before your arrival. If you want to reconfigure the sectional as a bed yourself, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the two sofa sections closest to the TV by lifting each straight up from its neighbor.
2. Remove the “internal’ section (the one with only a back) and rotate it 90 degrees.
3. Slide the “end” section (the one with a back and arm) and reconnect it in the place just vacated by the “internal” section.
4. Slide the rotated internal section into place against the end section.
5. Slide the ottoman into the center of the ‘U’ to complete bed setup.
You will find bedding for the converted sectional inside the ottoman. Just lift the hinged lid to retrieve the sheets and blanket.

Kitchen Details
Each kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, pots and pans, silverware, cutlery, and dinnerware. Please feel free to make use of any provided kitchen essential – and let us know if there is something you need that we may have missed!

Laundry
A washer and dryer are available for your use in the lower level of the main house and in the laundry closet of each guesthouse. Use only liquid detergent or detergent pods made for front-load washers. We have provided liquid detergent to get you started.

Trash
Please take your bagged trash to the dumpster in the alley behind the unit. You can access the alley via the backyard or by taking the sidewalk along 14th Avenue.

Dish Washer
You can find detergent pods for the dishwasher under the kitchen sink. Do not use regular dishwashing soap in the dishwasher, as this will cause the dishwasher to overflow. Use only dishwashing detergent or pods.

Gas Grill
Follow these instructions to use the gas grills on the patios.
Ignition
1. Remove the cover and raise the grill lid.
2. Open the door on the base of the grill. Turn on the propane tank valve by turning the valve counter-clockwise until it stops, and then turn the burner control knob ¼ turn from the Off position.
3. Push in a burner control knob and simultaneously press the ignitor. The grill should light.
4. Close the grill door and lid; adjust grill heat using the burner control knobs.
Shutdown
As soon as you finish grilling, follow these steps to shut down the grill:
1. Raise the grill lid and extinguish the flame by turning the burner control knob(s) to the Off position.
2. Open the grill door and close the propane tank valve by turning the valve clockwise until it stops.
3. Close the grill door and lid.
4. After the grill cools completely, replace the cover.

Fire Tables
Follow these instructions to use the fire tables on the patios.
Ignition
1. Remove the fabric cover and remove the fire table lid.
2. Open the door on the base of the fire table. Turn on the propane tank valve by turning the valve counter-clockwise until it stops, and then turn the control knob ¼ turn from the Off position.
3. Push in the control knob and simultaneously press the ignitor. The fire table should light.
4. Adjust the height of the flame using the control knob; when you are satisfied with the flame, close the door and enjoy!
Shutdown
As soon as you finish enjoying the fire table, follow these steps to shut it down:
1. Open the fire table and extinguish the flame by turning the burner control knob to the Off position.
2. Close the propane tank valve by turning the valve clockwise until it stops.
3. Close the fire table door and replace the table lid.
4. After the fire table cools completely, replace the fabric cover.

Utilities
The electric panel (breaker box) for the main house is located in the lower-level kitchen.

In the guesthouses, the electric panel is located in the bedroom behind the door concealed by a canvas print. Water shut off valves are located in the utility closet behind the door in the bathroom.
